Handball

Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each, consisting of six field players and one goalkeeper, compete to score goals by throwing a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular court with a goal at each end, and players can use any part of their body, except for their feet, to control and pass the ball. Matches are typically played in two 30-minute halves, and the team that scores the most goals wins.

Handball combines elements of basketball, soccer, and water polo, emphasizing both physical fitness and strategic gameplay. The sport is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF) and is played internationally at various levels, including professional, collegiate, and amateur leagues. It is especially popular in Europe, with many countries having competitive leagues and national teams participating in international tournaments. Handball can also refer to a variation of the sport, such as beach handball, played on sand and with slightly different rules.
